Hearing Assessments
Comprehensive hearing assessments with a focus on your comfort and care.
SHOULD I HAVE A HEARING TEST?
Hearing changes can occur at any age, and even subtle shifts are worth checking. Because hearing loss often develops gradually, it’s not always immediately noticeable. You may not realise you're missing certain sounds until it begins to impact your daily life.

The good news is that there are common signs that may indicate it’s time for a hearing assessment. Even if you don’t suspect a problem, a hearing test provides a clear and accurate picture of your hearing health.
SIGNS TO LOOK OUT FOR
Turning up the TV volume higher than others prefer
Frequently asking others to repeat themselves
You miss parts of words (like constonants)
Trouble hearing clearly on the phone
Trouble hearing high-pitched sounds (birds or doorbells)
A feeling of fullness in the ear
Ringing, buzzing or hissing sounds in the ear
You start to think about avoiding social events

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A HEARING ASSESSMENT?
Pure Tone Audiometry with AC BC & Masking
This is a hearing test we use to diagnose hearing loss, by measuring your ability to hear sounds at different pitches and volumes. We divide the test in three levels and using three different methods.

Levels:
-
Hearing Threshold Level (HTL): tests the softest level of hearing
-
Most Comfortable Level (MCL): tests the optimal level of hearing
-
Uncomfortable Loudness Level (UCL): tests the loudest level of sound you can tolerate without discomfort
Methods:
-
Air Conduction (AC): tests the full hearing pathway using headphones
-
Bone Conduction (BC): we bypass the outer and middle ear to check the inner ear function
-
Masking: we prevent sound from reaching the non-test ear to ensure accurate results
